· Read Please 2003—www.readplease.com, free download

Read Please 2003 is a program that allows you to copy and paste any text into the window and have it read to you. Example: you can copy and paste email text and it will have it read it to you.

· Microsoft Word

In the very early stages of my learning Assistive Technology I’ve used Microsoft Word to record my voice. How you go about doing that is going to: insert, object and scrolling down to wave sound.

· Kurzweil 3000 www.kurzweiledu.com

Kurzweil 3000 is a program that allows you to scan documents into your computer and have it read to a student. One of the features is if a student has low vision the program, while reading the text, will highlight the text in yellow.

· One Notewww.office2007.com

One Note is a program that allows you to record your voice and type reports to be shared with co-workers etc.

· Google Docs and Spreadsheets—free when you create an account

Google Docs and Spreadsheets allows you to type perfectly good documents and then email them. You may type up to 100 spreadsheets/documents.

· Google Calendar—free when you create an account, www.google.com

Google Calendar is an online calendar that you can keep your daily appointments on and it also has a feature where the calendar can be emailed.

· Dragon Naturally Speaking—www.nuance.com

Dragon Naturally Speaking is a program that allows you to record your voice and whatever you say comes up in text. Since Dragon Naturally Speaking is a sensitive program it takes a lot of time and patience to train it.

· Google Book Search—www.google.com, more, books

Google Book Search is a text preview of books.

Google docs and spreadsheets information!

in this entry I will be talking about Google ducks and spreadsheets.
Google ducks and spreadsheets allows you to type from anywhere (if you have an Internet connection).
You can share documents and spreadsheets by e-mailing than to each other/coworkers.
When you click on the e-mail button and the sand tab you can go down to choose from many options.
The options are send as a Word document/PDF format.
It also has a feature which allows you to collaborate on documents by collaborating.
You have the option of sharing the documents with coworkers.
Or you may choose to view the documents and spreadsheets for yourself
calendar
the calendar feature is just like any other calendar but it's stored.
Online similar to Google ducks and spreadsheets, you can choose to share with coworkers or just keep it for yourself
I use Google docs and spreadsheets/calendar.
For school for school work and when I report to work.
Basically I use a spreadsheet feature in Google docs to take messages and keep records.
And I use it off so to type information.
Evanston Township high school's (special education department).
The consultants uses it for informal notes on the students she serves not only at Evanston Township high school but the other schools in the northwest suburbs.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking takes some time to train but if you have the patience to do this it should be easy.
